Diner City
Scooter Club
first meet
Sunday,
August 22, 2004
at the
Edgemere Diner,
Rt. 20 in
Shrewsbury, MA

Our first organized ride was a grand success!

We had people from 3 states represented, and the weather gods were smiling.
11 riders stayed for the day, while 4 other scooterists stopped in to say 'hi' and
support the cause before taking off for other errands. Our friends from
Providence learned that it only takes 1:15 to get from Prov to Worcester by
scooter, which i was very excited to hear! Everyone enjoyed some coffee and
wonderful breakfast at the Edgemere Diner before taking off.

After a gas-up, we went through some scenic backroads (hi Mark's family! hi
cows!) to Westborough Center. A stop for chatting and ice cream at Dairy
Queen, then the group decided to head south to the Grafton Flea Market.
Everyone swore not to buy anything that wouldn't fit on a scooter... although
Angie did leave with a box full of records strapped to her passenger seat!
Then we went back into Grafton for a post-shopping beer at the Post Office Pub.
From there we split up for home or other rides around town.

Thank you so much to everyone who turned out for our first, organized Diner
City SC "brunch scoot". Hello to all our new scooter friends, and a special
shoutout to those people that traveled long distances to join us - Grace, Angie,
and Mike! We hope to plan another Brunch'n'Scoot soon, featuring another
local diner and some more great central mass backroads.

Scoot!
