Hey Dougzig,
How's trix? I was jus' looking over your wares. I remember that my brother
Mike & I speculated that you'd become a media mogul with such broadcast
outlets as Doug-o-Vision Doug-per-view & Doug-by surround sound, but we
failed to anticipate the interdoug.

You like words? take a look over here if you've a mind to.

Gene Ha, artist of Top Ten
answers my fan letter...

Dear Doug,

You wouldn't believe how rarely I get questions like this. I enjoy discussing my book's plot.

I knew Girl One was going to die for most of the series. It was a bit difficult. I have too vivid an imagination sometimes.
The script specifically said she had been fatally disembowelled. I did research into disturbing photos of murder victims. If I know a picture is real, it's all the more disturbing.

I tried to make the injury realistic, but I also tried to not fixate the composition on the spilled intestines.

And both my wife and I miss Girl One. But knowing Mr. Moore could do anything is part of why I like working with him. It wouldn't be any fun if I knew Alan was scared to kill or hurt a character.

Oh, just checked out your site. Very cool! I love the drawings. I've bookmarked it to read it later. And I'm stealing your idea of using a sig file with my website.

Gene.

- Mr. Ha...

- Top Ten #10 was one of the MOST moving comic book stories I've ever read. It might even surpass the Daredevil #181 issue where Bullseye kills Elektra.

- My question... was it tough for you to do the artwork on a comic where such a cool and relatively undeveloped character such as Li was going to be killed? Or did you just view it as a job to get done. I guess I'm curious moreover by how much you get emotionally involved in doing comics...

- Good work. I'm hooked on Top Ten.

- Doug
